Be creative with the letters of the alphabet! Every week we will provide you with exercises that represents each letter of the alphabet. The goal of this challenge is to bring a sense of purpose to your exercise and ride with intention, having the particular word in mind. The exercises can be executed in many different ways. Try to be open-minded!
A – Awareness
The first and most important thing when it comes to riding is awareness. Awareness of yourself, your body, your mind and your thoughts. As well as your horse’s. Sometimes we become unaware of patterns of tension in our bodies and that’s perfectly normal. Our bodies are programmed for creating patterns. But sometimes they are more negative, for example tension in where tension isn’t meant to be. When we learn how to influence these parts of our bodies, through awareness, and develop positive patterns instead, our riding becomes better and we will enhance communication with our horse. This will lead to better performance in the end.
In this exercise, try to keep awareness of your body and your mind all the time. If your mind wanders and you lose contact, gently bring it back, over and over again. See what comes up!
